Keep it simple
- A simple high-contrast design works best. Most stickers we sell
are the smaller sizes than a traditional "bumper sticker." Therefore,
designs should be clear and easy to read, and use bold lettering. Decorative
and serif fonts with point sizes smaller than 6pt will close up when printed
and may be unreadable. Although we will try to foresee and anticipate
any problems before printing your design and notify you, we
cannot be responsible for art that doesn't reproduce well due to small
type and/or art not submitted to our printing specifications.
Use solid colors - Shading, gradations,
blends, and percentage fills are not possible to reproduce accurately
on Standard orders, and may be rejected. We print with 55 to 70 linescreen
and designs with shading may drop out, or photos may appear banded and
uneven. Also, on designs with halftones your text may appear "dotty"
at the edges. We recommend that you always use solid fills and outlines
for best results. We will try to foresee and anticipate any problems before
printing your design, but we cannot be
responsible for art that doesn't reproduce well due to halftones and gradations
in your design.
4 Colors doesn't mean "process color" - We can print
up to four spot colors on your custom stickers, but this does not mean
to imply that we print stickers in CMYK or process color (sometimes called
four-color process or full-color). We do not print process color stickers
at this time.
Use reversed images and colored backgrounds
as additional colors - A white sticker with black letters is pretty
plain.
Try reversing images for higher contrast
- Be careful though - some graphics look poorly when reversed and
need another step in editing to show the highlights properly. We are always
happy to take a look at your art before you place an order to make sure
it's ready to print.
Avoid tight registration and complex
images - Tight registration (1/16" or less space between colors)
is not available on standard stickers. We will print your art to film
as-is and cannot be responsible for slight misregistration.
Send art for multicolor stickers color
separated - Submit multicolor art as individual TIF files for each
color or use layers in Photoshop to provide color separations. Art not
color separated before submission may require additional preparation and
costs.
File types accepted: We can accept
your artwork in many different formats. The most common file types are
TIF files and JPG. We can accept files in the following formats: TIFF,
EPS, AI, PSD, JPG and native Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark files. Font
substitution is always consideration when using native files. Fonts should
be converted to curves or outlines whenever possible. We highly recommend
using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CorelDraw for designing and preparing
files for submission and printing. Below you will find detailed information
on each native format and special requirements that may need to be considered.
Mac users: We are a PC based shop
but can accept Mac files. Fonts must be converted to outlines or curves
to avoid font substitution. Font substitution may be a problem if uncommon
and decorative fonts are used. File conversion is available but will add
art charges to your order.
CorelDraw 12 (.CDR, .CMX; also exports
file types including TIF, JPG, BMP, EPS and Illustrator AI) Convert fonts
to curves, and save as version 10 or earlier CDR.
Illustrator CS (.AI, .EPS; also
exports as Photoshop PSD) Convert fonts to outlines, save as version 9
or earlier.
Photoshop CS (.PSD, also exports
file types including TIF, GIF, JPG, BMP, EPS) Create color seps on layers,
save as version 5.5 or earlier, or save aech layer as a different bitmap
(preferably TIF) file. Fonts should be rendered before sending or you
will need to include any fonts used so we can view and print it properly.
Photo Paint, Paint Shop Pro: Create
art and layers, export as TIF or JPG.
Microsoft Word, Powerpoint: We can
accept files created in Word or Powerpoint for reference only. The only
way for us to get the file ready to print is to print it on a laser printer
and scan it in, so make sure any art or logos are at 300 pixels an inch.
Fonts must be included along with the document.
Quark Xpress: You can submit a QXD
file as long as all files in the document, including fonts and graphics
are in the file you send us. You can also export a Quark document to an
EPS but we will still need fonts included with the EPS file.
Pagemaker, InDesign, and other page layout
programs: Check your manual to see if your program exports one
of the many file types we accept or try a commercial or shareware conversion
program. If we need to convert your file it will add additional art charges
to your order.

and FAQ pages for
